The municipality of Sulkava became the first municipality in Finland to procure the entire municipality's own electricity needs with domestic solar electricity. Emissions from the municipality's own electricity consumption dropped to zero at once. At the same time, Sulkava receives property tax and land rental income.

Solarigo invests, installs and maintains a solar park. No financial investment is necessary from municipality.

The municipality can buy all or part of the solar park's production and use guarantees of origin to compensate for emissions.

In case the mucinipality purchases solar electricity, the municipality has the opportunity to name the solar park as it wishes and to take advantage of the image benefits of green energy.
